PRINTING United Las Vegas: A Buyer's Survival Guide

PRINTING United in Las Vegas is the single largest concentration of DTF, DTG, and UV hardware you will see all year. Every booth is tuned, every demonstrator is practiced, and every print that comes off the bed is nearly flawless. That is exactly the problem. A show floor is engineered to sell the dream of ownership, not to reveal it. If you arrive without a method, you leave with brochures and a feeling — and that is how the wrong machine ends up in your shop.
Walk in as a buyer, not a spectator
The difference between a spectator and a buyer is a checklist. A spectator watches the demo and asks about price. A buyer asks the seller to document the ownership system behind that demo — the daily care, the idle-time recovery, the workspace demands, the service path, and the real cost after the quote. The demo is the easy part. Ownership is the part you are actually buying.
A perfect print on a tuned show-floor machine is not evidence that this equipment fits your business. It is evidence that a practiced operator in a controlled room can produce a perfect print. Those are different things.

Take the interactive seller checklist to PRINTING United. Mark what each booth actually explains, then return only to the ones that gave real answers.
The three-day method
- Day 1 — Survey: walk the full floor without buying intent. Note the booths that match your actual products and demand. Collect spec sheets only.
- Day 2 — Verify: return to your shortlist with the Seller Verification Workbook. Make each seller answer the five ownership questions on the record.
- Day 3 — Revisit: return only to the two or three booths that gave complete, documented answers. This is where a real decision gets made.
Most buyers invert this. They get excited on Day 1, commit on Day 2, and spend Day 3 justifying a decision already made. The workbook exists to flip that sequence — evidence first, decision last.
What to demand on the show floor
Every seller can run a demo. Few will volunteer the ownership reality unless you ask directly. Demand the cleaning routine, the shutdown and startup sequence, the recovery procedure after several idle days, the ventilation and electrical requirements, and the full cost of consumables and service over a year. A seller who answers in detail is one who can support you after the check clears. A seller who deflects is showing you exactly the support you will not receive.
