Seller Verification: Questions That Protect Your Purchase

Demonstration prints are always nearly perfect. They are run on tuned machines, in controlled environments, by people who run them every day. Your ownership will not look like that. The seller verification questions exist to make the sales floor resemble ownership — even briefly — so your decision rests on evidence, not a polished print.

Five questions to ask any seller

  • White ink: which maintenance tasks does the printer perform automatically, and what will I still do daily, weekly, and after idle days?
  • Powder and shaker: show me the entire powder process — cleaning, refill, adjustment, monitoring, and containment of loose powder.
  • Curing: how do I know a transfer is actually cured? What changes with film, powder, ink load, speed, and environment?
  • Environment and space: what ventilation, filtration, temperature, humidity, electrical, and footprint should I plan for?
  • Demo vs. ownership: what am I not seeing in today’s demonstration? Show me the cleaning, waste handling, shutdown, and startup.

Use the show-floor seller check-offs across all three days of a trade show. Mark what each seller actually explains, then return only to the booths that gave real answers.

Make evidence the standard

Every purchase earns its evidence. A seller who answers these five in detail is one who can support you in ownership; a seller who deflects them is one who cannot. Bring the verification workbook, mark the answers, and let the evidence — not the demo — decide which booths deserve your return visit.
